Passive Voice


v Simple Present Tense
1.      Active        : Ani sweeps the floor
Passive      : The floor is swept by Ani
2.      Active        : Heri reads the books
Passive      : The books are read by Heri

v Present Continuous Tense
1.      Active        : Sarah is writing a novel
Passive      : A novel is being written by Sarah
2.      Active        : We are riding the horses
Passive      : The horses are being ridden by us

v  Present Perfect Tense
1.      Active        : Andi has opened the book
Passive      : The book has been opened by Andi
2.      Active        : I have seen the snake
Passive      : The snake has been seen by me

v Present Perfect Continuous Tense
1.      Active        : He has been reading a comic
Passive      : A comic has been being read by him
2.      Active        : My father has been washing the car
Passive      : The car has been being washed by my father

v Simple Past Tense
1.      Active        : Dea sent the letter
Passive      : The letter was sent by Dea
2.      Active        : Desi bought the cookies
Passive      : The cookies were bought by Desi

v Past Continuous Tense
1.      Active        : Dani was eating a plate of fried rice
Passive      : A plate of fried rice was being eaten by Dani
2.      Active        : Hana was playing the laptop
Passive      : The laptop was being played by Hana


v Past Perfect Tense
1.      Active        : I had eaten a bowl of porridge
Passive      : A bowl of porridge had been eaten by me
2.      Active        : I had signed the contract
Passive      : The contract had been signed by me

v Past Perfect Continuous Tense
1.      Active        : He had been playing the ball
Passive      : The ball had been being played by him
2.      Active        : Ajeng had been boiling the water
Passive      : The water had been being boiled by Ajeng

v Present Future Tense
1.      Active        : We will visit our uncle
Passive      : Our uncle will be visited by us
2.      Active        : Beni will meet his friend
Passive      : His friend will be met by Beni

v Future Continuous Tense

Passive      : The data will be being sent by my sister
2.      Active        : She will be helping Ana

v Present Future Perfect Tense

Passive      : The contract will have been written by us
2.      Active        : Rina will have sold the bike
Passive      : The bike will have been sold by Rina

v Present Future Perfect Continuous Tense
1.      Active        : Yanti will have been giving novel
Passive      : A novel will have been being given by Yanti
2.      Active        : She shall have been driving a car
